What is a Psychic Medium?

A medium refers to a psychic medium who acts as a channel between the human beings /psychic and the world of spirits. He goes into trance either under the suggestions and guidance of a psychic or his/her trance may be self-induced. A trance is a sleep like state and to experience it the medium has to suspend his/her body consciousness or ego. The medium loses his normal physical awareness while he is in a state of trance. He appears to be charged with extra terrestrial energy when he is in a state of trance. It appears that some spirit takes charge of his body and mind and puts words in his mouth and guides his physical movements under its own instructions. A medium's state of trance can be interpreted in a different way as well. While in a state of trance, a medium becomes sensitive enough to receive the signals or the waves of energy from the spirit and interpret them in intelligible human language. A medium attunes his awareness like a radio set and receives the signals from the spirits. This heightened awareness can be used to contact and communicate with the spirits of the dead, who when invoked respond to the calls of their living relatives and survivors courtesy the medium. The difference between a psychic and a medium is that a psychic can also act as a medium and go into a state of self-induced trance, while a medium may not necessarily be a psychic and in such a case, his trance is induced by the psychic. Moreover a psychic can always receive or draw the information from the living vibrations of energy around him without going into trance. In case of medium, he has to go into trance to receive those vibrations. A medium becomes a receiving and transmitting station under the suggestions or directions of the psychic.
