When Jane Doherty consciously acknowledged her psychic ability, she never intended to be a professional psychic. However, Jane was forced to accept her new profession after demonstrations of her psychic talents led to many requests for readings as well as her other paranormal abilities. Jane joyfully shares her gifts and gratefully acknowledges God for the divine inspiration to guide, advise and to teach others how to create a better future with the right use of their free will as well as the ways of spirit. Jane has been featured in most New Jersey newspapers, as well as the New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Woman's World Magazine. Jane has appeared on the Weekend Edition of the TODAY SHOW, several episodes of Sightings, NBC House Party as well as New Jersey's Talking on NEWS12. Currently, Jane is a radio personality on two bi-weekly psychic call-in shows on WCTC 1450AM and WJHR 1040AM. (PRWEB) May 7, 2005 -- Psychic and author Jane Doherty was interviewed by TheBookInsider.com this week. An excerpt from the interview may be read here, or the full interview may be read at http://www.thebookinsider.com/Interviews/JDoherty.htm. Thebookinsider.com: How old were you when you had your first paranormal experience and how did you come to realize the experience was paranormal? Jane Doherty: My earliest experience occurred when I was four years old during an asthma-like breathing attack. In the midst of that struggle my mother's voice faded in the background to a barely audible mumble when I became dizzy and started to lose consciousness. In eerie silence I heard a voice speak within that assured me that I would not die if I followed the specific instructions of this inner voice. I wouldn't have known what the word psychic or paranormal meant at four, but I probably would have realized the episode was different. Most of my early experiences were accepted as just as just a normal part of my mind, until I began to explore the unknown in my mid-thirties. It was only then could I differentiate between a paranormal event and the normal functioning of the mind. The one event I clearly recognized as paranormal happened while attending a Wayne Newton concert. I saw a detailed vision of an Indian woman on a blank movie screen that no one else witnessed. Thebookinsider.com: Who and/or what have been your biggest influences and what? Jane Doherty: My biggest influences have been the ability to not shut off my "feelings" despite my surroundings and rules during my upbringing. As a child I knew I was different, but not because I thought I had psychic ability. What differentiated me from other children was my extreme sensitivity, openness towards others, and an awareness of a type of love we were to have towards others. These early "feelings" and higher "awareness" helped me to define my life experiences not by other peoples' reactions to what I experienced but rather by my own feelings and perception. Recognizing at an early age the importance of discovering my uniqueness facilitated the development of my psychic gift later in life. My mom instilled in me a strong faith and belief in a higher power, which helped me to overcome any of my fears while exploring the unknown. Her strong faith in God, her vision of Jesus, and my own mystical experiences, especially the miracle healing I witnessed at a holy shrine, all gave me the strength and resolve to trust in my feelings and perceptions, despite their unusualness. Psychics were a huge influence on me. If it weren't for psychics, I would never have searched for my destiny or sought the secrets of the unknown. Anna, who became my psychic mentor, impacted my life the most. She didn't teach me to be psychic. Instead, Anna defined my experiences by her own subjective understanding of what she knew but also allowed me to find my own way. Eventually, I taught myself how to be psychic.
